WHEN ON QUARANTINE I INVITE YOU TO REPLACE PORN WITH THIS...

What an extraordinary time in history we all are living through right now. 

I personally moved through so many emotional states in these last few weeks - fear, of course; frustration, that I can't see my friends and go places, which felt so normal before, and now the new normal are Zoom and Facetime meetings; a state of apathy; and finally, surrender and gratitude. 

I have also been spending about two hours each morning meditating, doing energy clearing practices, breathwork, dancing…

.... and self-pleasuring! 

And you know what? I have been feeling the most alive, vibrant, grounded and connected to myself I've ever been. 

And so it dawned on me. Instead of doing what I am so used to, why not use this time to develop new habits, and do something I've never done before?! Like really allow myself to have space I've never allowed myself to have. 

So I decided to sit in a 3-day silent retreat. Just like that at home, with my computer and phone off, no human interaction, sitting in meditation, and writing. I set an intention and created a basic structure for myself for the entire three days. 

One thing I absolutely did not want to let go of is my Tantric Self Pleasure practice! Why not? Because my language is pleasure! Because it keeps me alive and grounded and connected to my radiance. And because I know if I retreat to pleasure in my body once a day, I will feel stronger, more empowered, more feminine, and more overflowing with energy that I can than share with others, with my loved ones and people I serve. 

And so here is my invitation for you:

Instead of reaching for porn + masturbation (and I bet a lot of you are finding yourself doing it these days) just so the urge goes away and that 5-second release happens, why don't you spend 30 minutes (or more) each day being with yourself doing a conscious self-pleasure practice. No distractions (i.e. fantasies) - just you and your body in exploration and discovery. 

My clients report extraordinary breakthroughs when they change the way they touch themselves. They really get into a meditative state with pleasure. 

If you’re thinking -  how selfish to focus on pleasure when so many people are suffering. It is not. When you pour into you and you are generous with yourself, and give to yourself first, you will be able to take care of your loved ones, your kids and parents offering more and being more present. And who wouldn't want that?!
